Bullet Journal & creativity
To say that Bullet Journaling has helped mw with my creativity, is an understatement. It totally changed my habits, my structure and my take on creativity! I has always had the perception that creativity has to do with spontaneity, for some reason. That you create in the moment and you can’t plan your making. Bah! I’m 100 % a planner. Of everything (except lunch. I always improvise lunch!).
But the thing is, I plan to give myself time and energy to be able to be creative.
My number one habit that I always stick to is my sunday planning session. I sit down on sunday evening and make a plan for the week. This can sound like a bit of a chore, but it’s not! It’s so nice to know what the coming week is going to offer and the things you have to do and so on. And I do it very easy for myself. No drawing or sketching or decorating. That takes uneccessary time and effort for me.
And my trick here is to write a list of all the things I want to remember, accomplish or make that week. So, I usually have three headlines: work, creative & other.
Work.
Under this headline I write down all the things to do with work. KRAFT, my own business or workshops that I’m teaching etc.
Other.
This is a list of other things! Food I want to cook, movies I want to watch, if it’s my time to clean the apartment this week. Stuff like that.
Creative.
And on this last list I write all things I want to do this week, creativity linked. So it could be like I want to finish the dress I’m currently making, start a baby sweater for my coming niece or nephew etc. By doing this I have a list that says it’s ok to do this, to take time and do this in your week. And it reminds me of all the creative things I want to do! It’s great, really!
What do you need then?
Well. You need a notebook and a pen. That’s all! If you want to get more into it and a bit more fancy you can buy a notebook with dotted paper in it. I like it because then you have something to guide you bit it’s not as restrickted as lines or boxes. And a pen that you enjoy to write with is always a good thing.
If you want to get started with your Bullet Journal you can download a free workbook here: Workbook!
It’s easy to follow and you can go back to it again and again!
